Libya Embassy Attack and the releasing of the Film insulting the Prophet (saw)
Bismillah al-Rahman al-Raheem
The bringing down of the American flag, and the attack and the storming of some US embassies and consulates in some Arab and Islamic countries, especially in Cairo and Benghazi, have paved the way for the concentration of the American interests in the region, chiefly in Libya.
The “Ansar al-Shari’ah Brigade”, An Al-Qaeda-affiliated group operating in east Libya issued a statement denying its responsibility for the attack on the US consulate in Benghazi. To quote from the statement: “These accusations are part of a prearranged campaign aimed at vilifying this brigade and inciting others against it.” However, some US officials believed the Benghazi attack had been planned and not spontaneous; they pointed out to the presence of evidence indicating the possible involvement of elements of a group they described as radical, known as “Ansar al-Shari’ah”, in planning the attack.
Mike Rogers, the Chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, announced that the attack had “all the hallmarks of an al-Qaeda-style attack”. He told CNN “There are still some fuzzy details.”The American president did not wait long before he announced that the US would dispatch a Marine anti-terrorism unit to bolster security in Libya. Obama also ordered two destroyers to the Libyan coast. A senior American military official said the move was a precautionary measure and did not mean military action was imminent. He indicated that the aim of this move was to give the Obama administration flexibility for any future action against Islamic extremists in Libya. The official told Reuters that USS Laboon in Crete could take its position within hours; whereas destroyer USS McFaul was two days away. Both destroyers are equipped with Tomahawk missiles which NATO used extensively against the air defences of Colonel Muammar Gaddafi last year.
It is likely that America concocted this crisis within the Islamic Ummah, despite the death of her ambassador Christopher Stevens asphyxiated in the fire that broke out during the attack on the consulate; a matter which was neither expected nor foreseen.
It transpired that the American administration had been aware of the plans to attack several US embassies and consulates, especially in Cairo and Benghazi; yet it failed to take the appropriate measures to protect them, be it in terms of evacuating the staff before the screening of the film or bolstering the security measures around the diplomatic compounds to prevent the demonstrators from reaching them. The British daily newspaper, The Independent, mentioned that “American officials believe the attack was planned, but Chris Stevens had been back in the country only a short while and the details of his visit to Benghazi, where he and his staff died, were meant to be confidential.” It also revealed that “According to senior diplomatic sources, the US State Department had credible information 48 hours before mobs charged the consulate in Benghazi, and the embassy in Cairo, that American missions may be targeted, but no warnings were given for diplomats to go on high alert.”
America could have banned the screening of the film deemed offensive to the Messenger of Allah (saw), as she did with Terry Jones, the Miami priest who harbours hatred towards Islam, when he wanted to perpetrate the crime of burning the Qur’an. However, this time she chose to exploit the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks to screen the offensive film instead, in order to maintain the threat of Muslims embedded in the psyche of the Americans and the West, and to seize the opportunity to set in stone her political influence on the countries of the “Arab Spring” and her military presence, especially in Libya and Yemen, where she is facing a formidable opposition from the local people, and where her new agents dare not proceed in this issue now that the masses have started to sense their willpower and have acquired the right to voice their opinion, to protest, and to take to the streets to express their resentment and aversion to these conspiracies and to whatever the ruling elite may undertake in terms of measures that contradict their aspirations.
Hence, these events will very likely pave the way for the regimes of the “Arab Spring” to generate the legal pretexts and laws that will curb the Islamic movements that are yet to dance to the American tune in respect of separating religion from the state and consolidating democracy and the civil state. This is also what America aims to achieve through the reaction of the Muslims to the vilifying of their sanctities.
Therefore, the main aim America wants to achieve by allowing the screening of the offensive film is to tackle the so-called “Salafi movements” and the Islamic movements that oppose the American project for the region. She wants to socially and legally size them up and then inspire the Brotherhood ruling movements in the countries of the “Arab Spring” to undertake legal and constitutional measures to curb those movements, in addition to incite the domestic public opinion against them, thus enabling the governments to forge ahead with the civil state projects, to get rid of the double talk and to side in a conspicuous manner with the American project that targets wining “the hearts and minds” of the Muslims in favour of Kufr and diverting them away from Islam, as well as paving the way for the American military presence in some countries under the guise of protecting the US diplomatic missions in the wake of the local forces’ failure in doing so.
The US administration is therefore exploiting the “Islamic movements” to establish her project and to confront some of them, just like she did when she fuelled the sectarian struggle between the “Shia” and the “Sunni” thus luring the Muslims into confronting each other. America is therefore executing a sizeable part of her projects at the hands of the Muslims, upon succeeding in provoking them and inciting them against each other.
To add insult to injury, and to add fuel to the fire with the aim of provoking the Muslims into reactions that would justify her actions and plans, these events coincided with the three-day visit of Pope Benedict XVI to Lebanon during which he signed the Post-Synodal Apostolic Exhortation that addressed the Christians of the East and placed himself as their guardian, as if they were part of his papal kingdom. He in fact attempted to confirm that Lebanon was a Christian country and warned against the threat of Islam and the Muslims to those Christians. Is he not the same Pope who attacked Islam and the Messenger of Allah (saw) at the German university of Regensburg in September 2006?
Allah (swt) has uttered the truth when he said: “You shall certainly be tried and tested in your possessions and in your personal selves; and you shall certainly hear much that will grieve you, from those who received the Book before you and from those who worship many gods. But if you persevere patiently, and guard against evil,-then that will be a determining factor in all affairs.” [3-186] T.M.Q.
