The European initiatives in the Peace Process

It is known that Europe is considered a stage for events in the world and that what takes place in Europe is of interest to all countries worldwide and consequently this influences international politics and international events. Europe has wide political relations with other states of the world at various levels and in various domains, at all times; and some of Europe’s states used to be influential in international politics. Therefore, it is incumbent to monitor constantly the political transformations and the changes and all that occurs in Europe in terms of events, for it is an indispensable matter if the aim is to influence those events and those changes. America, the leading superpower, monitors closely what occurs in Europe with the aim of attempting to control the events that took place in that part of the world especially those events related to other states in the world. The European states that have international ambitions are like the politician who never tires nor loses heart in his determination and his effort to achieve his objective. The European states who have international ambitions and many vital interests follow America in order to be appear next to her even through the progress behind the American plans, so that they may catch something from that relationship.

America has an influential presence in Europe in which the American hegemony over events is evident, such as the events of the Balkans, Northern Ireland and the expansion of Nato in addition to other events. It is also noted that Europe has accepted to devote herself to America in the issue of the Middle East and the activation of the Peace Process. She is interested due to the vital interests that she has in the Middle East, and because she regards herself as the expert in the Middle-Eastern politics, due to the historical links she had with that region and which go back hundreds of years.

The stability of the Middle East through establishing peace will enable Europe from regaining her vital interests or at least some of them. Furthermore, her backing of the Peace Process does satisfy her political ambitions even if this were within the American plan
